How to make Festive Cinnamon Candles

Hi babas,

It may only be the start of November but Siana and I are already well into the Christmas spirit. However, if you’re not yet in the Christmas mood making these candles should help you along!

Although I can in no way claim these Cinnamon Candles to be my own original idea, I have been inspired by the photos on Pinterest and fancied having a go at them myself. I just love how autumnal and festive they look and think they are a great, cost-effective way to decorate any blank space this season.

Also they would make a lovely homemade gift for family and friends!

Anyone who likes a bit of DIY crafts keep reading! Lets get started……

What you will need:

1 Unscented Pillar Candle
Cinnamon Sticks (dependent on the size and length of your candle)
Scissors
Hair band
String
Microwave or glue gun
An old tea towel
Ribbon
Festive Decoration

Firstly take your candle, place a hair band/elastic band around your candle and slot the cinnamon sticks under the band:

Note: you may have to trim your cinnamon stick to size depending on the length of your candle using scissors. However if you have pruning shears, use them! I only had scissors and it was quite time consuming, but worth it :)

Once you covered the whole candle and are happy with the positioning, replace the hair band with some string, tied tightly, then place the candle on a microwavable plate, and heat in 30 seconds bursts firmly pressing around the candle with a tea towel after each burst. Repeat this step as many times as you need too! With the candle I used it took three times.

Allow the candle to cool and now is the time to get creative! I have obviously gone for a festive theme but you can decorate them however you wish, if your making them as gift you can personalise it to the person you’ll be giving it too.

And that’s it! All in all this probably took me just under an hour to make and most of that the time was spent cutting the cinnamon sticks! The word ‘rustic’ is your best friend with these, if it goes a bit wrong don’t worry there meant to look ‘rustic’ ;)

Let us know if you have a go at making these we would love to see your creations! Tag us on Instagram @ggirls.uk

See you soon!

Benefit Christmas Stocking!

Hiii Babas!

Second post of the evening, Sorry babs, Me and Alice are really excited to start blogging and I couldn't resist letting you know about the amazing benefit christmas stocking I managed to bag for a bargain price of £15!

I absolutely LOVE christmas and all I have been doing for the past month is looking/buying christmas pressies for my loved ones.

I have pretty much bought all my lovely momma's christmas pressies and I have been hunting around for something perfect for my big sister.

I visited a local branch of boots recently and to my delight there was a wonderful little deal that benefit have been promoting in selected boots stores (I assume it is selected stores; I haven't seen this in any other boots) basically, you can select 4 benefit mini's along with the the cutest mini benefit stocking, I spent ages decided on the best products for my sister and decided on :

Benetint 4.0 ml
I absolutely adore benetint, I'm a massive fan of benefit and have used pretty much all of their tints, this one along with cha cha have to be my favourites. Me and my sister are both half indian so the deep red colour of this tint suits our olive complexion, however, lighter skin tones also look fab with a dark red, Alice loves dark red lip colours and they really suit her paler skin tone!

Boing 02 1.4 g & Eye Bright 1.2 g
I haven't tried this product myself, however it is on my christmas list along with fake it (if any of you have tried these products please let me know how you got on!) I will have to wait until christmas to let you know how my sister got on with this product. I chose the 02 (by a complete fluke) Alice informed me that the boiing actually comes in two different shades 01 and 02, so I was pretty lucky to pick the right colour for my sisters skin tone. I absolutely love the packaging with this product, the mirror and mini compact case make the product feel worth much more than how much you are paying.

the POREfessional 7.5ml
This is an absolute beauty favourite and I know my sister has been dying to try it! If you haven't heard of the miracle that is POREfessional then you have been missing out big style! I suffer from large pores on my forehead and nose and this product is an absolute dream for me, with just a small pea sized amount on the face (I focus on my problem areas) my large pores seem to dissapear like magic. I apply my make-up on top and thanks to this little bad boy my skin looks airbrushed good! If you haven't tried this yet I would highly recommend it. What is great about this little mini is that you get 7.5 ml which is actually quite a lot! I know benefit have brought out another product called 'the POREfessional - Agent Zero Shine' which I am dying to try!

it's potent! eye cream 3.0 g
I wanted to get this product for my sister as I know she loves eye creams. Again, I haven't tried this product but I have read really good reviews on the benefit skin care range. What I love about the look of this product is the packaging (Benefit are marketing superstars) I am a sucker for good packaging and just love the underwater look of this product, it feels like the product is a little potion which is super cute.

This is the mini stocking with the mini products next to it, as you can see they are adorable and make a really lovely little christmas present! I would love to know if any of you guys have bagged this great offer and what other products you got, there were a few other products that you could get instead, however, I can't seem to remember any of them! I spoke to a woman that works for boots and she said the offer was subject to availabilty, so if you wanted to take advantage of the deal I would rush to your nearest boots ASAP, i'm pretty sure they will run out soon as it is such a good deal!

I really hope you enjoyed reading our first BloGG, Alice will be be getting in touch soon with some fun ideas for homemade christmas gifts for the money savers amongst us!

Our First BloGG!

Hii Babas!

This is a quick post just to introduce ourselves. We are two best friends who love fashion, beauty and most importantly… FOOD!

We have been best friends for over 10 years (wowzas – that’s not a cool thing to say is it?) we are similar in many ways, but different in others,

We love reading blogs ourselves and feel it’s the modern way of sharing ideas, tips, advice and individual experiences, just like having a big group of friends (that may sound a little bit soppy but that’s how we like to think of it). Our blog will just be a fun way of providing reviews, recipe ideas and the occasional (everyday) embarrassing mishaps.

We hope you enjoy our future posts, we can’t wait to start!
